This promotion is only applicable to UnionPay Mobile QuickPass transactions made via mobile wallet applications linked to a UnionPay credit card (including but not limited to Apple Pay), or to UnionPay credit cards with contactless tap-and-go functionality.

From August 1 to October 31, 2025, cardholders using UnionPay Mobile QuickPass or a UnionPay credit card with contactless functionality compatible with Japan's transit systems can enjoy an instant ¥99 discount when passing through designated transit gates. The offer applies once per card, per day, per route (or multiple routes), with a minimum fare of ¥100. Each card is eligible for up to 10 discounts during the promotion period.

Important Notes:

• Only transactions made with UnionPay Mobile QuickPass linked to a UnionPay credit card are eligible
• Only transactions routed through the UnionPay network are eligible; transactions via online banking or third-party platforms are excluded
• Offer is only valid on designated transit routes
• Discount cannot be combined with certain segmented fare discounts offered by specific transport operators
• Each UnionPay card is limited to one discount per day per route (or multiple routes); maximum of 10 discounts per card during the promotion; discount quotas are shared among all participating transport services
• Discounts are based on the deduction amount and time initiated by the third-party transport operator; pre-authorized transactions are based on the actual posting time
• Limited availability on a first-come, first-served basis. The campaign will end once all quotas are used

1.The UnionPay Public Transportation Promotion in Japan (hereinafter referred to as the “Promotion”) will run from August 1 to October 31, 2025, or until all available discounts are fully redeemed, whichever comes first (the “Promotion Period”).

2.Eligible payment methods: The Promotion applies only to UnionPay Mobile QuickPass transactions made via mobile wallet apps linked to a UnionPay credit card (including but not limited to Apple Pay), or UnionPay credit cards with contactless tap-and-go functionality. The physical card and the mobile wallet linked to it share the daily and total usage limits.

3.During the Promotion Period, cardholders can receive a ¥99 instant discount once per day when using the eligible payment method to pay for designated transit routes within Japan (whether a single or multiple routes; hereinafter referred to as the “Discount”).

4.Fares paid using UnionPay Mobile QuickPass or UnionPay credit cards are generally set to adult fare by default.

5.Only transactions routed through the UnionPay network are eligible. Transactions processed via UnionPay online banking or third-party platforms are not applicable.

6.The discount cannot be exchanged for cash, goods, or services, and is non-transferable.

7.Each UnionPay card is eligible for one discount per route (or multiple routes) per day, and up to 10 times during the Promotion Period. All participating transport operators share the same quota pool.

8.The deduction time is based on the timestamp initiated by the third-party transportation provider. The discount is calculated based on the deduction date, not the date of travel.

9.Pre-authorized transactions are calculated based on the time they are posted to the account.

10.After using the discount, cardholders who log in to the UnionPay “Cloud QuickPass” app and bind their credit card can receive notification messages regarding the discount, including but not limited to the exact discounted amount.

11.In all cases, timestamps, transaction amounts, cancellations, reversals, or refunds will be based solely on UnionPay’s backend system records.

12.Each eligible transaction is limited to one discount. If a transaction qualifies for multiple UnionPay promotions, the final reward will be determined by the UnionPay system.

13.Unless otherwise stated, this discount may not be combined with other offers, including other UnionPay priority discounts or segmented fare refunds offered by certain transport operators. Any refunded fare will result in the corresponding discount being withdrawn, and the quota will not be restored.

14.Discount information will not be shown on Japan’s ticket gates or transit terminal screens. The final amount charged will be based on the issuing bank’s record.

15.The promotion applies only to eligible transactions. It excludes voided, reversed, canceled, refunded, fraudulent, or manipulated transactions, including operator-initiated voids. If the system cannot determine the cause of reversal, UnionPay reserves the right to cancel the discount and reclaim the amount, without returning the quota, and pursue legal liability.

16.In the event of transaction reversals, the amount will be refunded to the original card. Manual voids will not trigger refunds. For any discrepancies, contact the UnionPay customer service.

17.Cardholders must not engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors (“Violations”):

　a) Fictitious transactions;

　b) Participation for illegal profit;

　c) Using multiple accounts to exploit rewards;

　d) Using bots, scripts, or automation to participate;

　e) Violating principles of good faith;

　f) Other fraudulent or deceptive practices.

18.If violations are detected, UnionPay reserves the right to cancel participation, reclaim rewards, and ban future participation. UnionPay may also pursue legal compensation based on severity.

19.Cardholders acknowledge that internet-related risks may cause disruptions. In the case of force majeure, network, or system failures, UnionPay reserves the right to suspend the promotion.

20.Cardholders must ensure the card number they provide is complete, true, and accurate. If the registered card number differs from the actual payment card, resulting in ineligibility for the discount, the cardholder shall bear full responsibility. UnionPay shall not be held liable.

21.UnionPay is not responsible for any failure to participate in the promotion due to cardholder device issues, signal problems, data transmission failures, or system errors.

22.Non-resident cardholders should note that some card types may be restricted by the issuing bank. Please activate international usage permissions, confirm balance or credit limits, and ensure a payment password is ready in advance. Contact your issuer for details.

23.Cardholders acknowledge that UnionPay is not the provider of transportation services and cannot access your transit routes or fare amounts. Please direct inquiries to the relevant public transport company. UnionPay assumes no liability for transport-related services.

24.Cardholders must carefully read and fully understand all terms and conditions of the promotion. Participation constitutes acceptance of these terms.

25.To the extent permitted by law, UnionPay reserves the right to amend the terms or terminate the promotion without liability. All information is subject to UnionPay’s official announcements.

26.In the event of any discrepancy between the Chinese and English versions, the Chinese version shall prevail.
