All UnionPay cards with card numbers starting with 62, issued in Mainland China only (excluding Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan)

Cardholders who use the registration card to make purchases at participating offline merchants can enjoy preferential exchange rates.

Register to enjoy the Gold Exchange Rate. From the day after successful registration, the exchange rate tier will be upgraded based on the total number of eligible cross-border transactions made during the promotion period via UnionPay:

·         Upon reaching 3 eligible transactions, the exchange rate will be upgraded to the Platinum Exchange Rate from the following day

·         Upon reaching 5 eligible transactions, the exchange rate will be upgraded to the Diamond Exchange Rate from the following day

1.      Eligibility: Only UnionPay cardholders with cards starting with 62, issued in Mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), are eligible to participate.

2.      Participation Method:

1)      Users register for the promotion using UnionPay cards starting with 62 issued in Mainland China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). Multiple cards may be registered. Once registration is successful, users can participate in the promotion. Each user and all UnionPay cards under their name must register through a single channel only; multiple registrations via different channels will result in registration failure. Registrations via different bank portals are limited to cards issued by that bank or supported cards on that portal.

2)      During the promotion, users enjoy the Gold exchange rate on the day of registration. From the next day onwards, the exchange rate tier will be upgraded based on the total number of eligible cross-border transactions routed through UnionPay made by the registered cards from the registration date to the previous day (Note: One day’s transactions are counted from 23:00 the previous day to 22:59 the current day, Beijing Time). Upon reaching 3 cumulative transactions, the rate upgrades to Platinum the following day; upon reaching 5 cumulative transactions, it upgrades to Diamond the following day. Exchange rate tiers are updated daily around 12:00 noon Beijing Time by UnionPay International (“UPI”). Transactions after the tier update enjoy the new corresponding rate.

3)      Only cross-border transactions routed through UnionPay qualify. Payments via UnionPay online banking, third-party platforms such as Alipay or WeChat Pay (regardless of card binding) are excluded.

4)      Supported regions and currencies: After successful registration, cardholders enjoy exchange rate subsidies on eligible RMB-denominated consumption transactions made in the following region and currency: New Zealand (New Zealand Dollar).
Installment payments, mail order/telephone order (MOTO), ATM withdrawals, and remittances are excluded. Transaction time, type, and rate are based on UnionPay’s backend records. For pre-authorized transactions, subsidies apply based on the actual charge time and rate.

5)      Supported payment methods, merchants, and goods: Cardholders using registered cards at offline merchants via card swipe, insert, contactless payment (card or mobile), or UnionPay QR code payments (via bank or QuickPass app) enjoy subsidies.
Excluded merchants: regulated/restricted merchants, high-risk merchants, auction merchants, government services, public schools, utilities, charities, social services, pawnshops, and trust-related merchants. Excluded goods: vouchers, gift cards, prepaid cards, tobacco, alcohol, and investment gold bars (including granules).
For mobile contactless payments, some debit cards from Mainland banks (e.g., ICBC, CCB, Industrial Bank, Bank of Beijing) and credit cards from Postal Savings Bank may have low limits causing transaction failures. Please consult your issuing bank.

6)      Promotion places are limited and allocated first-come, first-served.

7)      The maximum cumulative original order amount (pre-subsidy) per user across all registered cards is RMB 300,000. Once reached, no further subsidies apply to any registered card transactions.

8)      After registration, users may check their subsidy rate in the exchange rate module. The subsidy rate is based on market rates combined with the user’s tier. Market rates come from UnionPay’s system using multiple sources and market principles. Rates and subsidy levels may fluctuate; displayed rates are for reference only. Actual transaction rates prevail; UPI will subsidize accordingly. Tier upgrades do not guarantee higher subsidy rates than previous levels. Please spend responsibly.

9)      If a card is registered in multiple UnionPay exchange rate promotions, transaction counts accumulate separately per promotion for tier upgrades. At payment, the best discount among promotions applies. Only one subsidy can be used per transaction.

10)  After registration and qualifying transactions, users can view records and subsidy bills in the “You Plan” mini-program under “My”.
Mobile contactless transactions currently do not support subsidy info queries.

11)  Cancelling a card’s registration means no further subsidies for that card. Historical transaction counts and amounts for that card will be excluded at next update, possibly lowering the user’s tier. Future transactions on that card will not count.

12)  Refunds and returns: Only the actual paid amount is refunded; subsidy amounts are non-refundable. Refunded transactions are deducted at the next tier update and may lower the user’s tier.

13)  Users registering on the last promotion day only enjoy Gold rate on that day; no tier upgrades apply afterward.

14)  This promotion cannot be combined with some other discounts where specified.

15)  Minimum subsidy amount (if any) is RMB 0.1.

16)  Benefits expire when the promotion ends.

17)  Subsidies are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or goods.

18)  If users abuse or attempt to abuse the promotion or UnionPay benefits, UPI may deny subsidies, cancel participation, and recover benefits. UPI reserves rights to claim damages if abuse causes losses.

19)  All times are Beijing Time.

4.      Organizer: This promotion is organized by UnionPay International Co., Ltd. (“Organizer”). Within legal limits, the Organizer may adjust rules based on actual conditions. Changes will be posted on the promotion page and take effect upon publication. UPI is a global company and may transfer your information internationally, where data protection laws differ. Some personal data may be shared with authorized partners for service purposes only. The subsidy promotion privacy policy applies.

5.      Rights Reserved: UnionPay International reserves the right to amend these terms within legal scope.

1. The terms and conditions of the promotion is applicable to the merchant. Details can be consulted from customer service staff.
2. UnionPay International is neither vendors nor service providers, thus UnionPay International is not responsible for the products or services provided by the merchant. Any obligations and liabilities relating to such products or services and all auxiliary services shall be borne by the merchant.
