UnionPay cards not issued in Azerbaijan

During the Promotion Period, cardholders can enjoy an instant 10% discount with no minimum spending requirement when making payments at online and offline merchants across Azerbaijan using any UnionPay payment method, including physical cards, Mobile Pay, and online manual card number entry. 

The maximum discount is 2 AZN per transaction. Each card is eligible for up to 2 discounted transactions per day, with a maximum cumulative monthly discount of 30 AZN per card.

1. Promotion Period

From 10 July 2026 to 31 May 2027 (both dates inclusive), or until the promotional incentive fund is exhausted, whichever occurs first. The applicable time zone shall be based on the UnionPay backend system (GMT+8).

2. How to Participate

Cardholders must successfully register for the promotion via the designated QR code or specified registration link (U Plan registration) before participating.

3. Eligible Transactions

The promotion is valid for payments made at all online and offline merchants across Azerbaijan.

Eligible payment methods include all UnionPay payment channels, including physical cards, Mobile Pay, and online manual card number entry.

4. Definition of Mobile Pay

Mobile Pay refers to payments made using a UnionPay card (card number beginning with 62) that is tokenized in the mobile device’s built-in NFC wallet, including but not limited to Apple Pay, Huawei Pay, Xiaomi Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

Payments made using UnionPay cards linked through third-party wallet applications do not fall within this definition and are not eligible for this promotion.

5. Merchant Category Code (MCC) Notice

Eligibility for the promotion is determined based on the Merchant Category Code (MCC) registered with the local acquiring institution.

This promotion applies to online and offline merchant payments throughout Azerbaijan, covering major MCC categories closely related to everyday spending, including but not limited to convenience services, healthcare, transportation, entertainment, hotels, department stores, jewelry, airline ticketing, supermarkets, restaurants, and other daily consumption categories.

If a merchant’s actual business type differs from its registered MCC, resulting in the cardholder being unable to receive the instant discount, UnionPay International shall not be liable and will not accept any related compensation claims.

Money transfer transactions and ATM cash withdrawals are not eligible for this promotion.

6. Discount Limits

● Maximum discount per transaction: AZN 2

● Maximum 2 discounted transactions per card per day

● Maximum cumulative monthly discount per card: AZN 30

7. Promotion Quota

The promotion is available on a first-come, first-served basis according to the actual transaction sequence and is valid until the promotional incentive fund is fully utilized.

8. Eligible Cards

This promotion is open to all UnionPay cards (credit and debit cards) issued outside Azerbaijan.

UnionPay cards issued in Azerbaijan are not eligible for this promotion.

9. Definition of a User

The same device, user ID, registered mobile phone number, mobile phone number linked to the bank card, physical bank card, identification number, or any other identifier deemed to represent the same individual shall be regarded as one user.

Virtual mobile phone numbers are not eligible to participate in this promotion.

10. Eligible Transactions and Refund Policy

Only valid purchase transactions are eligible for this promotion.

Cancelled transactions, pre-authorizations, refunded transactions, or abnormal/invalid payments are not eligible for the discount.

Merchant receipts and invoices will display the original transaction amount before the discount. The discounted amount after the UnionPay instant discount can be verified through the bank’s debit SMS notification, U Plan promotion records, the bank’s mobile application transaction history, or other relevant account statements.
