UnionPay cards issued outside of Korea

- 30% extra tax refund (up to 60,000 KRW) for foreign travellers who purchases goods at the following stores with UnionPay cards (card number starting with 62).

- Customers MUST insert their UnionPay cards into Global Blue terminals placed at the participating stores to get the extra tax refund.

- This promotion is NOT available for customers applying for a tax refund at the airport.

Terms & Conditions

① Promotion valid from 17th December 2024 to 31th May 2025.

② Extra Refunds are only paid to Global Blue non-cash refunds with UnionPay card starting with 62. Cash refunds will not receive Extra Refunds. 

③ The 30% Extra Refund promotion is calculated on the refund amount, and not on the purchase price. Example 30% Extra Refund promotion calculation: spending 100,000 KRW (tax included) with UnionPay card, the regular tax refund paid after fees is 6,000 KRW. Extra Refund promotion is 30% of the regular tax refund paid, which is 6,000 KRW*30%= 1,800 KRW. The maximum Extra Refund promotion amount payable per tax free transaction is 60,000 KRW. 

④ The 30% Extra Refund will be paid in RMB or corresponding billing currency to the UnionPay card made purchase in the store. Select any card made purchase if using multiple UnionPay cards in the store. FX rate is provided by Global Blue. 

⑤ The 30% Extra Refund will be paid after the goods have been validated by Customs and confirmed by Global Blue that the tax refund process is completed. Refunds are usually paid within 7 days of Customs validation, however this can take up to 60 days if mailing back the tax refund paper form back to Global Blue. Extra Refunds are paid to you in seperate transactions, usually 1-2 days after the main tax refund. 

⑥ If you have already applied for UnionPay Extra Refund, you cannot cancel the purchase. Since you've applied for UnionPay card tax refund in advance, you do not need to visit the tax refund counter in the airport after Customs validation, and you cannot change the refund method to cash at the refund counter in the airport. Please drop the tax refund paper form into the mailbox if you receive the Customs validation manually. You do not need to do so if you receive the Customs validation digitally. 

⑦ The Extra Refund promotion is not applicable for all brands. It is subjected to the store notice. The Extra Refund promotion can be used in conjunction with the other promotions. Global Blue can withdraw and stop the promotion at any time without notice. 

⑧ The promotion's quota is limited and is available on a first come first served basis. The promotion will be withdrawn without notice once the quota runs out.

⑨ If a store participating in the promotion closes, the promotion is considered to be automatically terminated in that store.
