UnionPay cards are accepted at about 90% merchants in Thailand, including large department stores, airport and downtown duty free shops, restaurants, hotels and tourism group-buying shops. You may also withdraw Thai baht at almost all ATMs in Thailand.
POS acceptance

Merchants with the signage of all accept UnionPay cards, including highlighted shopping areas like many department stores, duty free shops in airports and down town,7-11 convenient stores, supermarket chains, restaurants and tourist attractions in Thailand.Villa Market, Home Fresh Mart, Gourmet Market, HARNN Retail and Mega Bangna Mall, popular restaurants and hotels like Nara、Api Nara Thai Cuisine、Coffee Bean by Dao、Lam Charoen Seafood, DusitThani Hotels and Resorts, DharaDhevi Chiang Mai, and Pimalai Resort & Spa Krabi, cultural feasts and entertaining spots like Major Cineplex, Siam Theatre, and Phyket FantaSea Theme Park, and global car rental companies like Thai Rent A Car and Budget and Hertz. Since that some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.

When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to be benefited from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay.

Note：Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Please refer to the transaction results for the information about transaction routing.
Cash withdrawal

In Thailand, UnionPay cards are accepted at almost all ATMs in major airports, railway stations, intertown bus stations, 7-11 convenience stores, large shopping malls and tourist attractions, for withdrawing Thai Baht. There are signage and the following logos on these ATMs or the ATM screen:

Please refer to the latest government policy on overseas cash withdrawal via UnionPay cards at "Help Center-Card-using Instructions-Refined Card-using Tips". Daily cash withdrawal limit from respective issuers and/or ATM may apply. Please consult your issuer on the possible cap on the amount. You may split your withdrawals into several times which comply with the limit(s).
Charges

ATM commission fee consists of two separate fees:
(1) Service fee charged by the issuer: please consult your issuer for details.
(2) Service fee charged by the ATM acquirer in Thailand: some ATMs will charge commission fee at 150 Baht per transaction, which is charged by the local banks in Thailand and which has nothing to do with UnionPay or the issuer. Please notice the prompts and instructions about the Service fee on the ATM screen during cash withdrawal.

Cash withdrawal via debit card results in a lower commission fee.
Tips

Select PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
Never disclose your PIN to anyone who claims to represent the bank or the police.
Be alert to your surroundings before conducting any banking transactions.
Keep a close eye on your credit card during transaction to avoid any illegal activities.
If your UnionPay card has been stolen/lost, please inform the issuer immediately.
