POS acceptance
At present, almost all merchants in Peru accept UnionPay cards. You can pay with your UnionPay card at any merchant with a UnionPay logo or a Niubiz or Izipay POS terminal (as shown in the picture below). You can pay by swiping, inserting, or tapping your UnionPay debit, credit, or prepaid card in all currencies.

Payment at online merchantsCurrently, UnionPay cards can be used to make payments at Peruvian online merchants. You can first try entering your UnionPay card number in the payment interface. If the UnionPay logo pops up, it means that UnionPay is supported for this transaction.

Cash withdrawalYou can withdraw US dollars ( USD ) and Peruvian soles ( PEN ) using UnionPay card at ATMs in Peru with the globalnet logo. The current withdrawal limit at local ATMs is USD 200 and PEN 400 per transaction.The current service fee per USD withdrawal is USD 8 and per PEN withdrawal is PEN25.The withdrawal limits and service fee are set by the local network and apply to all card schemes. There is no charge for balance inquiries.

Charges
ATM commission fee consists of two separate fees:
(1) Service fee charged by the issuer: please consult your issuer for details.
(2) Service fee charged by the ATM acquirer in Peru: some ATMs will charge commission fee, which is charged by the local banks in Peru and which has nothing to do with UnionPay or the issuer.
Cash withdrawal via debit card results in a lower commission fee. -
Tips
Select PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
Never disclose your PIN to anyone who claims to represent the bank or the police.
Be alert to your surroundings before conducting any banking transactions.
Keep a close eye on your credit card during transaction to avoid any illegal activities.
If your UnionPay card has been stolen/lost, please inform the issuer immediately.
