POS acceptanceIn Greece, UnionPay cards are accepted at more than 95% merchants., including the merchants frequently visited by tourists in the shopping districts in Athens, Santorini and Mykonos. Since that some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.
When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to be benefited from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay.
Note：Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Please refer to the transaction results for the information about transaction routing.Paying with UnionPay credit card at some local merchants requires no PIN. Cardholders can complete the payment following the instruction of the cashier. Cash withdrawalIn Greece, in total 95% of ATMs accept UnionPay cards. All the ATMs of National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank，Alpha Bank，Eurobank，Postbank and Euronet accept UnionPay cards. There are the signage of
or the signages of these banks on the ATMs or the ATM screen. Daily cash withdrawal limit from respective issuers and/or ATM may apply. Please consult your issuer on the possible cap on the amount. ChargesThere are no ATM commission fees charged by UnionPay, but possibly by local banks in Greece or by some issuing banks. The fees charged by local banks (if any) are displayed by the ATM before the completion of the cash withdrawal. For the service fee from issuing bank, please refer to your issuer for details.

TipsSelect PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
Never disclose your PIN to anyone who claims to represent the bank or the police.
Be alert to your surroundings before conducting any banking transactions.
Keep a close eye on your credit card during transaction to avoid any illegal activities.
If your UnionPay card has been stolen/lost, please inform the issuer immediately. -
Tax Refund of UnionPay Cards upon ReturningUnionPay International cooperates with United Money& Transforex money to launch the service of tax refund on return. In Italy, if UnionPay cardholders shop in the stores labeled with the following logos of tax refund cooperative institutions, it’s available apply online for tax refund upon returning after having tax return form stamped by the customs. The tax-refund process is simple in operation, credit to RMB account and available to exempt the trouble of queuing. (The service is only applicable for UnionPay cards issued in Mainland China.)

Introduction of Overseas Tax RefundIn Greece, UnionPay has launched the UnionPay card (card number starting with 62) overseas tax refund service in cooperation with Global Blue, Planet Tax Free. You can apply for tax refunds when shopping in tax-free stores with the following logos of tax refund companies. You are entitled to use the UnionPay cards for receiving of tax refund.Using UnionPay cards for tax refund service, you could collect refund in default transaction currency of your cards without any currency exchange fees. Using UnionPay credit card, you can get the tax refund at downtown: at Global Blue downtown point, you can apply for early cash refund; at certain Global Blue tax free shops, you can apply for fast refund, receiving refund in 2 days.
