Enjoy Malaysia with UnionPay services and privileges
Department stores and exclusive shops most visited by tourists in Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur Airport, Genting Highlands, Kuala Lumpur Twin Towers, Pavilion Kuala Lumper, Batu Caves, Penang and Langkawi, all accept UnionPay cards. UnionPay cards can be used to withdraw cash in Ringgit at 90% of the local ATMs, including the ATMs of Maybank, Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, RHB, CIMB, Bank Rakyat, Affin Bank, SCB, HSBC and Citibank at airports, shopping centers and scenic spots.

POS acceptance
All UnionPay cards are accepted at Merchants with the UnionPay signage. Since some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders are advised to show their UnionPay cards upon making payment and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.
When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to benefit from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay.
Note:Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Please refer to the transaction results for the information about transaction routing. -
Cash withdrawal
In Malaysia, UnionPay cards are accepted at over 90% of ATMs for withdrawal of the local currency (Ringgit). Cardholders are able to withdraw the local currency at the following banks' ATMs Maybank, Hong Leong Bank, Public Bank, RHB Bank, CIMB Bank, Bank Rakyat, Affin Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC. These ATM screens come with Mandarin interface too.
Please refer to the latest government policy on overseas cash withdrawal via UnionPay cards at "Help Center-Card-using Instructions-Refined Card-using Tips". Daily cash withdrawal limit from respective issuers and/or ATM may apply. Please consult your issuer on the possible cap on the amount. You may split your withdrawals into several times which comply with the limit(s).
